It has been quite the journey building the Veterans Hub and while we patted ourselves on the back someone had to duck off for a Number 2!!
Now while there is facility (and always has been) to use the toot, toilet, ablutions, can, water closet, whatever you want to call it, it was recognised that we needed a Shitter at the Hub itself and not keep sending folk to the private residence on the property to do their thing!
Also while the lads have a choice of many species of Eucalyptus trees close to the Hub to choose from for a tinkle, wizzer, slash, wee etc, the ladies who have began to come onboard have the long walk up to the house for that comfort break.
So we decided that it was time in early 2025 to begin the Veterans Hub Shitter!. Now Phil being quite the legend in his lunchbox when it comes to accelerating into a project did exactly that with a small amount of assistance of some of the team to start and then he was off on his own and the Shitter began to take shape over the course of the next 16 months till completion last month.
Now unlike the sheds this Shitter has plaster lined walls, waterproofing in the shower area, mirrors, separate cubicles, doors, Army, Navy and Air Force themed toilets, tiled floors and walls in the shower. It's quite the thing this toilet building compared to the basic sheds. The toilet has a tank below that will be pumped out regularly and is plumbed to the many large water tanks on the property.
It's been a journey getting this much needed facility in place and all done without any grants or outside assistance, so it been privately funded all the way. Come down sometime and head off to your own themed toilet whether it be Army, Navy or AirForce.......or you could use someone else's and then blame that service for the mess!! HAHAHA of course though thats poor form and we ask nicely that any 'biology' left behind is brushed off with the provided cleaning gear.
